The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Monday said it will implement the ban on 15-year-old school services when classes start this June.

LTFRB chair Winston Ginez said he is not inclined to grant another year of extension despite pleas of school service operators.

The memo circular phasing out the 15-year-old school services was issued in 2013.

It was not immediately implemented because school service operators appealed that they be given a year to purchase new vehicles.

Ginez believes they have been given enough time to comply with the LTFRB requirement. —KG, GMA News
