When the new school year starts Monday, some 260 students at the Shamrock Elementary School in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte will not have textbooks to use.
This was due to a fire that recently hit the school, GMA News stringer Dennis Alipio reported.
Some of the students will have to use the library, computer room and guidance office as temporary classrooms.
Makeshift classrooms will also be set up at the school quadrangle, though the building materials will be limited.
The school estimated it will need some P1.5 million to repair the fire-damaged building. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
