Archbishop Villegas gets 2nd term as CBCP president; other officers elected

Lingayen-Dagupan archbishop Socrates Villegas was elected Sunday to a second term as president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines.
The CBCP said most of the 82 active bishops who attended the CBCP plenary assembly in Manila chose to give Villegas another two-year term.
Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles also got another term as CBCP vice president.
Meanwhile, reelected were Palo Archbishop John Du as CBCP treasurer, Fr. Marvin Mejia as secretary general.
Also elected were members of the CBCP Permanent Council, the CBCP news site said.
Regional representatives for Luzon are:
- Rodolfo Beltran of San Fernando, La Union
- Ruperto Santos of Balanga
- Gilbert Garcera of Daet
- Bernardino Cortez of Infanta
- Reynaldo Evangelista of Imus
- Ruperto Santos of Balanga
- Gilbert Garcera of Daet
- Bernardino Cortez of Infanta
- Reynaldo Evangelista of Imus
Visayas regional representatives include:
- Crispin Varquez of Borongan
- Narciso Abellana of Romblon

Representatives for Mindanao include:
- Jose Cabantan of Malaybalay
- Angelito Lampon of Jolo
- Angelito Lampon of Jolo
The CBCP said the officials will serve their terms from December 1, 2015 to November 30, 2017.
