Iglesia Ni Cristo’s 101st anniversary on July 27 a working holiday –govt

Filipinos will still have to go to school and work during Iglesia ni Cristo's (INC) 101st anniversary on July 27, the government clarified Tuesday.

An announcement on the Official Gazette said the INC anniversary is a working holiday, in accordance with Republic Act 9645 signed in 2009 by then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Last year, President Benigno Aquino III declared the INC centennial celebration a special non-working holiday.

The INC is the largest homegrown Christian church in the Philippines, with ministries in at least 102 countries. —Andreo Calonzo/KBK, GMA News
