Traffic in areas affected by Iglesia ni Cristo protest back to normal
Traffic on EDSA, which was severely affected by the gathering of Iglesia ni Cristo members, returned to normal a few hours after the religious sect ended the peaceful assembly on Monday morning.
The Metrpolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that as of noon, the EDSA-Shaw southbound service road was still impassable because of the continuing dispersal of Iglesia ni Cristo members.
Passable roads that were previously affected by the Iglesia ni Cristo protest action were:
- EDSA-Shaw northbound service road
- EDSA-Shaw tunnel
- EDSA-Ortigas intersection
- Ortigas flyover (southbound)
The MMDA also reported that traffic on the northbound and southbound lanes throughout EDSA was light to moderate.
The agency has also announced that the number coding scheme for Monday was lifted because it was a holiday, National Heroes' Day.
Meanwhile, members of the Iglesia ni Cristo members who joined the protest action on EDSA voluntarily cleaned up their garbage before dispersing.

— DZBB Super Radyo (@dzbb) August 31, 2015 Iglesia ni Cristo members started leaving EDSA and other areas of assembly in Metro Manila around 9 a.m.
The religious group started the protest action in front of the Department of Justice compound along Padre Faura Street in Manila on Thursday.
The protests were held following the filing of criminal complaint by former Iglesia ni Cristo minister Isaias Samson, who alleged that he and his family was harassed and illegally detained upon orders of the religious group's officials.
The protesters then moved to EDSA on Friday, until the Iglesia ni Cristo leadership declared the end of the assembly at past 8 a.m. —Bianca Rose Dabu/ALG, GMA News
