Former Bulacan governor Roberto Pagdanganan has filed a libel complaint against former Makati City Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado, who has linked Vice President Jejomar Binay to various anomalies in Makati City projects.
A report on "24 Oras" on Tuesday said the complaint stemmed from a tabloid report regarding the allegedly anomalous deal between property developer Alphaland Corporation and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP).
The tabloid report, written by Jun Ramirez, reportedly quoted Mercado as saying that Pagdanganan is facing a complaint before the Office of the Ombudsman over the Alphaland-BSP deal.
This was in connection with the plunder complaint Mercado filed against Binay on October 6 regarding the alleged anomalous sale of a P3-billion lot owned by the BSP to Alphaland.
Pagdanganan said the Ombudsman has neither informed nor summoned him regarding the alleged complaint.
GMA News was still trying to reach Mercado for his comment as of posting time.
The former Bulacan governor also filed libel raps against Ramirez, who refused to comment on the complaint. —Trisha Macas/KBK, GMA News
