‘IKAW NA BA?’

Only election day ‘survey’ counts, says Mar Roxas

Administration standard bearer Manuel "Mar" Roxas II on Friday said the only important "presidential survey" for him would be on election day.

On radio dzBB's "Ikaw Na Ba?... The Presidential Interview," Roxas was asked if he feels concerned for lagging behind in pre-election surveys.

"Kasi hindi naman ngayon ang halalan. Ang halalan nasa Mayo. Hindi ba dapat sa Mayo tayo manguna?" Roxas said.

"Tayo sa Daang Matuwid, malinaw ang ating programa," stressed Roxas, referring to the Daang Matuwid program of the Liberal Party.

Not leading in surveys

Based on the BusinessWorld-Social Weather Stations pre-election survey in January, Roxas only ranks third in voter preferences for president, next to Vice President Jejomar Binay and Senator Grace Poe.

Binay was the choice of 31 percent of 1,200 validated voters surveyed by SWS.

Poe with 24 percent (down by two percentage points from December) and was followed by Roxas with 21 percent (down a percentage point).

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte had 20 percent (same as in December) while Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago got three percent (a percentage point lower  than in December.
