VP Binay earpiece only for audio, not for coaching

During the Pilipinas Debates 2016 on Sunday, netizens posed questions about the ear monitor that Vice President Jejomar Binay was wearing during the debates.

Some people online were asking whether that would allow Binay to be coached for his answers.

However, organizers of the debate clarified that the monitor was only to provide Binay with audio of the program. The option was offered to all candidates, but only Binay chose to use a monitor.

Sunday's debate, organized by the Commission on Elections in cooperation with GMA Network and the Philippine Daily Inquirer, is the first opportunity for Binay and the rest of the field to face off during the campaign. —JST, GMA News
