Park management of Mount Pulag, Luzon's highest peak, closed down the mountain for trekking and camping on Thursday due to bad weather and the effects of a forest fire.

The Akiki Difficult Trail was shutdown because of rocks and stones that continue to fall from mountain slopes.

Management said it was a consequence of a recent forest fire at the Manenshen Upper Agno watershed. The blaze has since been under control.

Camp sites 1, 2, and 3 were also closed for trekking and camping at Mount Pulag's summit because of bad weather.

"It is drizzling today with zero visibility coupled with strong winds capable of destroying tent of any camper," park management explained. -Rie Takumi/NB, GMA News
