The Department of Health will start giving free dengue vaccinations to public school students on Monday, April 4, a report on Unang Balita on Tuesday said.

Health Secretary Janette Garin said the vaccination program will initially be offered to students of Parang Elementary School in Marikina City.

The DOH is aiming to vaccinate one million Grade 4 students in the National Capital Region, Calabarzon, and Central Luzon.

These areas have had the most number of dengue cases, the report said.

Each student will be given three doses of the vaccine.

The vaccination program will last for 20 months. —KG, GMA News
