DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan — Vice President Jejomar Binay on Saturday reiterated his challenge to his opponents in the presidential race to sign a waiver allowing the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) to check their accounts and that of their family members.
“Kung wala tayong itinatago, kung naniniwala tayo na dapat ihayag lahat sa mga kababayan, pirmahan ninyo ang waiver. Magpapa-AMLC din kayo,” Binay said in a news conference here.
Binay initially hurled the challenge during the second leg of the PiliPinas Debates held in Cebu last month.
The five presidential candidates will face off for the last time Sunday night, just two weeks before the May 9 elections. The three-hour debate will be held at the PHINMA University of Pangasinan.
“Hanggang ngayon, ni isa sa kanila ay walang pumipirma kaya ngayon, sa araw ng aming pagkikita muli, muli kong inuulit ang aking hamon: pirmahan ninyo ang waiver ng magkaalaman talaga kung sino ang may tinatago sa ating bayan,” Binay said.
Binay, who is running for president under the opposition party United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), said he signed the waiver to prove that he “never took advantage of the Filipino people.”

Binay is facing a string of corruption allegations for supposedly misusing city government funds during his stint as mayor of Makati City.
The UNA standard bearer likewise dared anew his opponents to disclose their medical records.
“Kung wala tayong itinatagong sakit — psychological or physical — magpakita din kayo ng medical certificate,” Binay said.
Binay said experience alone was not enough of a qualification for the next president.
“Alam ninyo, karapatan ng taumbayan malaman kung ano ang totoong psychological, physical at mental state ng kanilang ibobotong pangulo sa dami ng problemang haharapin ng ating bansa,” he said.
Binay had earlier released a medical certificate signed by a physician from the Makati Medical Center, indicating that he was physically and mentally fit.
