Trillanes arrives at BPI Julia Vargas for face-off with Duterte camp
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Monday arrived at the Bank of the Philippine Islands branch on Julia Vargas Avenue in Pasig City to face off with the camp of presidential bet and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte regarding his alleged multimillion peso bank account.
Trillanes met with Duterte's legal counsel Salvador Panelo.
Panelo held a special power of attorney (SPA) signed by Duterte authorizing him to request BPI to open his accounts where he allegedly amassed P211 million as accused by Trillanes.
Panelo said the SPA proves Duterte's innocence that no such amount exists in the mayor's account.
Trillanes, meanwhile, gave no statement and immediately went inside the bank.
The lawmaker and Panelo were inside the bank for 30 minutes, then Trillanes left the bank without giving a statement due to security reasons.

Trillanes will give a statement at the headquarters of Magdalo in Quezon City.
As of 11:44 a.m., Panelo is still inside the bank.
The supporters of Trillanes and Duterte also trooped to the branch early.
