Duterte in Trillanes’ list of Digong’s assets denies ties to Davao mayor

The owner of a Cagayan De Oro property that Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said belonged to the family of presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte has come out to deny that he was related to the Davao City mayor.

Through a Facebook post on Sunday, Gian Paolo Duterte said that he was a pediatric dentist based in Cagayan de Oro City.

He has been practicing his profession for seven years.

Although his family hails from Cebu, Gian Paolo said he had yet to find a direct connection to Duterte.

Duterte’s parents were from Danao in Cebu.

The list of Duterte's alleged pieces of property that Trillanes disclosed included Gian Paolo’s property in Cagayan de Oro City.

“Through my profession, I was able to secure a loan from the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) to purchase the real estate property in Cagayan de Oro City, mentioned in the reports of GMA 7 and Senator Antonio Trillanes IV,” Gian Paolo said.

In GMA-7's "24 Oras" report on Friday, it was mentioned that Gian Paolo's connection to Duterte was unclear.
