El Shaddai’s Mike Velarde not endorsing any presidential bet

Catholic charismatic group El Shaddai's founder and "servant leader" Bro. Mike Velarde is not endorsing any presidential candidate for the May 9 elections.

A report on GMA News' Unang Balita quoted Velarde as saying that he is giving El Shaddai members freedom to choose who they think would be the candidate best suited for the country at this time.

But the flock's leader advised members to discern, pray for God's guidance,  and vote wisely.

Some candidates believe the religious group's endorsement would be a big boost to their chance in the elections.

But Bro. Mike Velarde has never made claims El Shaddai is a kind of a voting bloc in elections.

Earlier, Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Bacani, El Shaddai's spiritual director, asked the group's members not to vote for presidential bet Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.  — LBG, GMA News
