Newly renovated home awaits PNoy on No. 25 Times Street

President Benigno Aquino III will be returning to a more modern home at No. 25 Times Street in Quezon City when he leaves Malacañang on June 30, Lei Alviz reported on "24 Oras" on Friday.

The historic residence, one that housed two Philippine presidents and martyred former senator, was renovated for a several months and received a more modern look that what it had when Aquino became president in 2010.

The house was home to Aquino, his mother the late former President and icon of democracy Corazon Aquino, and the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr.

Aquino's sisters—Ballsy, Viel Pinky, and TV personality Kris—have all waived their rights to the property in favor of the outgoing president.

"Happy kami at excited. Welcome na welcome siya dahil proud kami sa kanya, sa nagawa niya for the past six years. In fact, nagpaplano kami ng welcome party para sa kanya," Frankie Dayrit Jr., a neighbor on Times Street told GMA News. —Rie Takumi/NB, GMA News
