A bomb scare caused a brief tension in a barangay in General Santos City late Friday afternoon.
GMA News stringer Garry Balantay reported that a box that was left unattended in front of an eatery along Ramos St. in Baragay Dad South caused suspicions it had an explosive device in it.
Residents in the area took notice of the suspicious box at about 5 p.m.
But responding members of the city police’s bomb disposal team found no explosives in the cardboard box, which only contained a motorcycle’s gear transmission device.
According to the owner of the eatery, the box was left behind at about 12 noon. But no one picked it up until 5 p.m., prompting the owner to call the police. —LBG, GMA News
