Nursing may become a 5-year course

Nursing may become a five-year course if the Commission on Higher Education approves a proposal submitted by its technical panel to improve the quality of nursing education. CHED Commissioner Camilio Puno explained that the technical panel can only make recommendations, but only the CHED sitting en banc has the power to approve them. So far, the CHED has not made any ruling on the matter it would have to consider a lot of things. Among other things, CHED is checking the performance of nursing schools based on the percentage of its graduates that passes the licensure board examination.
