Newborns now subject of cyber porn, anti-trafficking panel says
Even newborns as young as three months old are no longer spared from cyber pornography, Raffy Tima reported on "24 Oras" on Monday.
The Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) has cited the increasing incidence of cyber pedophilia wherein even babies are being subjected to abuse by the demands of foreign costumers.
"It is very disturbing we have seen in online sexual exploitation of children thus, far it is disturbing," Atty. John Tanagho of IACAT said.
Tanagho said the youngest victim they rescued in their operations in Cordova, Cebu -- dubbed as the cyber pornography capital of the Philippines -- was a three-month old baby.
Based on IACAT data, 86 percent of abuse cases involve children where more than half are victims aged 12 and below.
Sixty-six percent of the cases showed the suspect was either a relative or an acquaintance of the victim. —Joseph Tristan Lopez/NB, GMA News
