House of Representatives issues resolution to condemn Davao bombing

The House of Representatives on Sunday issued a resolution condemning the bombing which killed 14 people in Davao City on Friday night.

The House in a resolution resolved "to condemn in the strongest possible terms the dastardly terrorist attack in Davao City, to express support to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in his efforts to prevent or suppress lawless violence in the country, and to extend its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of those who were killed and injured."

The resolution was issued following the blast that ripped through the Roxas Night Market in Davao City, killing 14 people and wounding more than 60 others.

Hours afer the bomb attack, President Rodrigo Duterte declared a nationwide state of lawlessness.

The signatories of the resolution include Representatives Gus Tambunting (Parañaque City, 2nd District); Juan Pablo "Rimpy" Bondoc (Pampanga, 4th District), Rodolfo Albano III, (Isabela, 1st District); Mylene Garcia-Albano (Davao, 2nd District); Ana Cristina Siquian-Go (Isabela, 2nd District); Raneo Abu (Batangas, 2nd District); Jose Panganiban Jr. (ANAC-IP); Antonio Floirendo Jr. (Davao del Norte, 2nd District); and Napoleon Dy (Isabela, 3rd District).

"(T)he House of Representatives stands in solidarity with the people of Davao City and the whole country in bringing to justice all those involved in the planning and execution of the terrorist attack," the resolution read. —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/ALG, GMA News
