The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) has appointed Fidel Agcaoili to lead the group's negotiating panel in its peace talks with the Philippine government.

The move came after NDF leaders accepted the long-standing request of Luis Jalandoni to resign as the Chairperson of the NDFP Negotiating Panel.

In a statement, the national leadership of the NDFP recognized Jalandoni's valuable service to the peace efforts. He will continue to serve the group as a senior adviser of the negotiating panel.

Agcaoili, the group added, has been serving as the Vice-Chairperson of the NDFP Negotiating Panel in the past years.

Meanwhile, as part of efforts to strengthen the NDFP Negotiating Panel, NDFP Peace Consultant has been named Benito Tiamzon as a member of the NDFP Negotiating Panel. — BAP, GMA News
