Doctor on Jaybee Sebastian’s absence: It’s still not advisable for tubes to be pulled out of his chest
Convicted kidnapper Jaybee Sebastian was unable to attend the resumption of the House of Representatives’ hearing on the drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison because he is still recovering from the wounds he sustained during the Sept. 28 stabbing incident inside the national penitentiary.
At the resumption of the hearing Thursday, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II read Sebastian’s medical abstract dated Oct. 5, where his medical condition was indicated.
In the abstract, Sebastian’s doctor said it was still “not advisable” for the tubes attached to his chest to be pulled out.
Sebastian sustained several stab wounds to the back and chest during last week’s riot at the NBP Building 14, which left one inmate dead.
After Aguirre read Sebastian’s medical abstract out loud, he asked that Friday’s hearing be reset to Monday next week since he needs to be present at the presentation of the Department of Justice’s budget hearing at the Senate. — RSJ, GMA News
