Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa pleads not guilty for illegal possession of firearms
Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa on Wednesday pleaded not guilty for case concerning illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosives, a report on GMA News TV's QRT said.
Espinosa was charged for the firearms and ammunition recovered from his ancestral house in August, aside from the more than P90 million pesos worth of shabu and bomb components in the residence.
Espinosa’s son, suspected drug lord Kerwin, is also charged with the same offense. Kerwin remain at-large. An Immigration source earlier said he already fled to Malaysia in June.
The Albuera Police arrested Espinosa on October 5 for alleged possession of 11.4 kilograms of illegal drugs and firearms recovered in his home.
Possession of illegal drugs is a non-bailable offense under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — Joseph Tristan Roxas/RSJ, GMA News
