CHED chairperson also received order not to attend Cabinet meetings

President Rodrigo Duterte is also barring Commission on Higher Education chairperson Patricia Licuanan from Cabinet meetings starting Monday.

"On Sunday, 04 December 2016, I received a text message from Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. relaying President Rodrigo Duterte’s instructions to stop attending Cabinet meetings starting this Monday, 05 December, 2PM," Licuanan said in a statement.

It was the same message received by Vice President Leni Robredo from Evasco, which prompted her resignation from Duterte's Cabinet as Housing Secretary.

Unlike Robredo, Licuanan said she will "continue my work as Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education." —ALG, GMA News
