'Baby tornado' strikes Pampanga town

One person died of a heart attack and two others injured by debris when a freak “baby tornado" battered the villages of Santo Tomas and San Nicolas in Sasmuan, Pampanga, GMA7 newscast "24 Oras" reported. The baby tornado struck around 9 p.m. Wednesday, shutting off power and destroying some 50 houses made of light materials. Damage to properties was estimated at P3 million. Residents said it was the first time such a twister hit their villages. Although a rare occurrence, the country has recorded baby tornadoes in the past. In May last year, a baby tornado destroyed 20 houses in Pangasinan.-GMANews.TV
