2 shot in predawn gang war in Tondo, Manila

At least two men were shot and seriously injured in yet another gang war that took place in Manila’s Tondo district shortly after midnight Sunday. Radio dzXL reported that the incident took place near Gate 1 of Area A of the Parola Compound in Tondo at about 12:55 a.m. Monday. Injured were Michael Fuentes, 19, and Joven Santamaria, 26, who sustained gunshot wounds in the left side of the body and in the chest. The two are presently confined at the Gat Andres Memorial Medical Center. SPO4 Roberto Jimenez of the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 2 said the suspects, one of whom was initially identified as Larry, fled after the incident. Gang wars remain a headache for the Manila city government, which last week imposed a curfew on minors to prevent their participation in gang wars. - GMANews.TV
