President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo will share the stage at another graduation ceremony on Friday, this time for the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).

The schedules of Duterte and Robredo indicate that they will be attending the graduation of the 144-strong PNPA Masidlak (Mandirigmang Ahon sa Silangan Ipaglalaban ang Dangal, Layunin, at Kalayaan) Class of 2017.

The ceremony will be held at the academy’s Gen. Cicero Campos Grandstand in Silang, Cavite.

According to the Philippine Information Agency, Duterte, the guest of honor, will present the Presidential Kampilan to PNPA Masidlak Class of 2017 topnotcher, Cadet Macdum Enca of Cotabato City.

Robredo, meanwhile, will present the Vice Presidential Kampilan to the graduate who attained the second highest grade, Cadet Midzfar Hamis Omar of Tawi-Tawi.

The PNPA graduation comes after the two officials’ attendance at the Philippine Military Academy's (PMA) commencement exercises last March 12. It was the first time they were seen in public together since Robredo quit Duterte’s Cabinet in December 2016.

Since their PMA appearance, both officials have been the subject of impeachment talks. A formal complaint was filed against Duterte last week, and several people—including House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez—are considering filing a complaint against Robredo.

Duterte accused Robredo of "being in a hurry to be president" but he also called on those who wish to have Robredo impeached to “lay off.”

Meanwhile, Robredo has said impeachment moves against either of them will “distract” from the work that government, especially Congress, must do. — BAP, GMA News
