Duterte jokes, wishes Baste would join the PMA: Para mabugbog doon
SILANG, Cavite—President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday once again drew laughter at the expense of his youngest son Sebastian, who he playfully scolded for supposedly running after women.
Duterte at the graduation ceremonies of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Masidlak Class of 2017 recalled the time when he thought of the then yet to be born Sebastian or Baste when he was held hostage by the New People's Army.
“Ako man, I was once upon a time a hostage ng NPA at tinutukan ako ng baril na M-14 sa ulo. I could feel the cold steel dito sa tem… Ang unang pumasok sa isip ko ‘yung anak ko nasa tiyan ng asawa, ‘yung Sebastian," Duterte said.
"‘Yung walang ginawa kung hindi rin maghanap ng babae,” he said as the crowd laughed. Walang ginawa ‘yun… Sana pumunta na lang ‘yun sa PMA para mabugbog doon,” he added.
Duterte was in the middle of explaining to the new graduates the dangers they'd be facing as police, fire and jail officers.
This was not the first time that Duterte scolded Baste, although in jest, in public.
A few months ago, Duterte asked Baste in a televised speech to call home.
He said he had not talked with Baste for a long time and was thus using the media to get his message across. —NB, GMA News
