Duterte appoints bypassed execs Gina Lopez, Mariano, Ubial, Taguiwalo

Malacañang on Monday said that President Rodrigo Duterte has reappointed the Cabinet secretaries who have been bypassed by the Commission on Appointments.

The Office of the Executive Secretary said Duterte issued ad interim appointments to the following members of the cabinet:

• Secretary Regina Paz Lopez, Department of Environment and Natural Resources
• Secretary Rafael Mariano, Department of Agrarian Reform
• Secretary Judy Taguiwalo, Department of Social Welfare and Development
• Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial, Department of Health

The CA did not confirm the appointments of the said Cabinet members before the Congress went on a session break from March 18 to May 1.

Duterte has also submitted to the CA a list of appointees to the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of National Defense including Adnan Alonto as envoy to Saudi Arabia and Joseph Yap as Philippines’ ambassador to Singapore. —NB, GMA News
