Arraignment of ex-Comelec chief Abalos postponed anew

The Sandiganbayan has once again postponed the arraignment of former Commission on Elections chief Benjamin Abalos Sr. for his graft case over the alleged anomalous purchase of vehicles in 2003.

The arraignment, scheduled on Thursday, was reset to June 22 after Abalos filed a motion to suspend arraignment on April 21.

Abalos was supposed to be arraigned on February 9, but it was canceled after he expressed his intention to file a motion for reconsideration to the court's resolution to his case.

Abalos was charged with graft for approving the purchase of two units of Toyota Revo VX200 worth P1.7 million without public bidding. — Erwin Colcol/RSJ, GMA News
