IED blast injures 7 soldiers in Marawi
Seven government troops were injured after they were hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) in war-torn Marawi City.
In a 24 Oras report by Chino Gaston on Tuesday, Lieutenant General Carlito G. Galvez Jr. said the wounded soldiers were already removed from the front line.
"We have seven wounded and I believe 'yung dalawa most probably mapuputulan ng paa because of the IED. 'Yun ang medyo complicated sa ginagawa natin ngayon," Galvez said.
The military official added that no one died in the incident.
The report said more than 1,200 IEDs, including high-powered military ordnance, cannons and bombs from air crafts, have been recovered and detonated by the military.
As of 7 p.m. on August 13, the death toll in the Marawi conflict stands at 735, including 562 Maute members and 128 soldiers and police officers. The number of civilians killed remains at 45. The military has also recovered 619 firearms. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA News
