Bro. Eddie Villanueva asks Duterte for impartial probe into Kian's killing

Jesus Is Lord (JIL) founding president Brother Eduardo “Eddie” Villanueva on Tuesday urged President Rodrigo Duterte to uphold the rule of law amid the surge of deaths in the police's anti-drug operations, including that of 17-year-old Kian delos Santos.

On a "Balitanghali" report by Mariz Umali, Villanueva and some of his pastors paid their respects to the family of the slain teenager.

The former senatorial candidate said he attended Kian's wake not only because his mother, Elsa, was a JIL member, but also to make known his position on extrajudicial killings resulting from the anti-drug campaign.

According to the report, Villanueva urged the President to ensure an absolute and impartial investigation into the boy's death, and to uphold the rule of law.

At the wake, Villanueva prayed for strength for Kian's family in their fight for justice. — Margaret Claire Layug/BM/KVD, GMA News
