One of the suspects in the death of 16-year-old Michael Angelo Remecio turned himself in over the weekend and confessed to killing the minor.

According to a report on GMA's "24 Oras Weekend" on Sunday, the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Alexander Senogat, turned himself in and confessed to killing Remecio on August 27.

Senogat said he was drinking with four other friends when a seemingly drunk Remecio passed by.

He said that Remecio threw a bottle of beer at the group, who then got angry and killed him.

"Sinaksak po ng tatlong beses," Senogat said.

Asked if he had companions, Senogat said: "Meron po, apat. Dalawa kaming nag-sako, 'yung tatlo lookout lang po."

Senogat said that they placed Remecio's body in a sack then threw it in the river.

One of the other persons of interest is a 16-year-old who is now in the protective custody of the police.

"Ang pagkakabanggit niya ay unang una, sabi niya ay parang hindi naman siya rito 'yung nag-plano o ano. May alam lang siya, nandoon po siya," Police Superintendent Fitz Adolfo Macariola said in the report.

Macariola said the police has yet to get more details from the person of interest, as the minor first needs to consult with a lawyer.

To recall, a decomposing corpse was found at a garbage dump in San Jose del Monte on September 13.

Initial findings from PAO

Public Attorney's Office forensics laboratory director Dr. Erwin Erfe positively identified the body as Remecio.

According to Erfe's initial findings, that the victim had been dead for more than a week when it was found.

The corpse was estimated to be at 16 to 18 years of age, male, without the appendix due to a previous appendectomy operation, and with bone remodeling noted in the left elbow due to injury.

According to Erfe, "bone fractures [were] noted on the cervical bones (nape area) due to blunt injury," with "areas of bleeding in the nape area and lower back possibly due to blunt or sharp force injury."

Erfe also said there was "more advanced decomposition noted in the lower back area indicating injury."

Remecio worked as a tricycle driver in Bagong Silang in Caloocan City, and was last seen on August 25.
