Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Sunday doubted the results of the latest Pulse Asia Survey in which President Rodrigo Duterte received an 80 percent in both approval and trust ratings.

In an interview on radio dzBB, Trillanes said that it was "impossible" that the recent events including the death of teenage boys had a little impact on Duterte's approval and trust ratings.

"Palagay ko nagkamali sila, it's either sa sampling method or sa research work mismo, malay niyo nakumprumiso yung mga researchers nila, malay mo ginawa lang sa ilalim ng puno yung mga sagot."

"So kumabaga hindi pwede kasi, imposible, imposibleng walang nagbagong opinyon simula June na wala pang mga issue at ngayon na sandamakmak na yung issue, kumbaga just common sense will tell you that mayroon at mayroong tama 'yan," he added.

Trillanes said that it would not be the first time that Pulse Asia Survey would have a discrepancy on its results.

"This is not the first time na nangyari 'yan remember nung 2007 namiss nga ako nung Pulse Asia eh na talo daw ako. Kumbaga ang laki nung diperensiya noon kaya hindi first time na nagkamali ang Pulse Asia na 'yan," he said.

The latest Pulse Asia Survey results showed that Duterte has an 80-percent approval rating, which is slightly lower than June's 82 percent. Eighty percent of Filipinos have "big trust" in him as well.

However, a separate survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations showed that Duterte had a net satisfaction rating of +48, which had slid by 18 points from +66, and deemed to be the lowest record during his term. —LBG, GMA News
