Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno has maintained a good relationship with other justices amid claims that some of her colleagues are willing to testify against her, the spokesperson of the top magistrate said Monday.

According to a Balitanghali report by GMA News' Tricia Zafra, lawyer Josa Deinla said the working relationship among the justices has remained professional.

In September, lawyer Larry Gadon claimed that three justices are ready to testify against Sereno once the impeachment complaint is transmitted to the Senate for the trial.

Gadon is the one who filed an impeachment complaint against Sereno, accusing her of culpable violation of the Constitution, corruption, other high crimes, and betrayal of public trust.

Earlier Monday, Malacañang said Sereno should quit from her post to spare the judiciary branch from further damage that would result from an impeachment trial.

Meanwhile, Deinla reiterated that Sereno has no plans of resigning from her post following the accusations against her, adding that Sereno is just focused on her duties in the Supreme Court.

According to Deinla, Sereno also advised the Court's employees to focus on their jobs and not to meddle with the issues against her.

Sereno's camp has maintained that the accusations against the Chief Justice are all baseless.

The next hearing on the impeachment complaint filed against Sereno will be held this November. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
