Almost 500 takers failed to show up for the first of the four Sundays on which the 2017 Bar examinations are held at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, according to the Supreme Court.

The SC said of the 7,227 admitted to take the exam, 468 law graduates did not show up on November 5 for the test that covered the subjects political law and labor and social legislation.

By comparison, of the 6,831 admitted to the exams last year, 477 test takers were a no-show on the first Sunday of the bar, leaving 6,354 who took the exams. Ten more gradually dropped out, leaving 6,344 who completed the tests on all four Sundays. Of this number, 3,747 passed. — Virgil Lopez/BM, GMA News
