Albay gov’t declares ‘depletion of budget’ for evacuees, yet to receive P94M calamity fund

The province of Albay has declared a "depletion of budget" as their funds run out for the evacuees following the continuous activity of Mount Mayon, even as it claimed the P94 million calamity fund designated for the province has yet to be delivered.

In a report on Super Radyo dzBB on Saturday, Allan Gatus quoted Cedric Daep, head of the Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO), as saying the Albay government was already appealing to Malacañang that their funds were already running out.

Daep estimated that the local government's remaining relief funds will last for up to only four days, even as he expressed worries there will be gaps in the giving of aid to the evacuees.

Meanwhile, Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara lamented how the Department of Budget and Management has been slow in delivering the P94 million calamity fund for the province, despite Albay already declaring earlier that it was in a "state of calamity." — Jamil Santos/MDM, GMA News
