Robredo: Bongbong relying on publicity stunts for electoral protest

Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday accused former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. of using publicity stunts for his electoral protest, as she hit out at his recent video blog posts.

In a "24 Oras" report, Robredo alleged that Marcos' camp has resorted to spreading lies against her.

"Nakita natin, meron siyang vlog online. Parang ginagamit niya 'to para i-promote 'yung sarili," Robredo told reporters.

"Parang ako pa 'yung nagiging instrumento para i-promote niya 'yung sarili [niya]. Tingin ko mali naman 'yon," she added.

Marcos' camp had yet to respond to Robredo's claim.

The two camps have traded accusations that the other is delaying proceedings in the electoral protest of Marcos, who narrowly lost to Robredo in 2016.

Marcos challenged the Vice President to sign a joint motion that would ideally lead them straight to recount. Robredo's lawyer Romulo Macalintal responded by signing a "joint motion," saying that the "bluffing" and "no-show" Marcos signed the "wrong pleading."

Robredo's lawyers took it a step further, filing a motion to withdraw all pending motions before the Supreme Court, sitting as the PET, on Thursday afternoon. —JST, GMA News
