NCRPO chief wants police to improve service to match 100% salary hike
Local police troops should improve their service to match the 100-percent increase in their base pay, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde said Sunday.
In an interview on GMA's Super Radyo dzBB, Albayalde said local police should match the 100-percent hike in their salaries by providing quality service to the public.
Police, soldiers, and other uniformed personnel started receiving their paychecks with a 100-percent increase in their base pay this year.
Albayalde's remarks come after local police officers were said to have had low morale following on-the-spot inspections in which several were caught sleeping and drinking alcohol on duty.
After these on-the-spot inspections, some 18 police officials have been sacked — one from Quezon City, two from Caloocan, four from Muntinlupa, and 11 from Pasay.
He was referring to the productivity bonus of employees of the Philippine National Police (PNP) which ranges from P6,000 to P32,000, depending on the rank. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
