A former aide of ex-Senator Jinggoy Estrada has been indicted at the Sandiganbayan for her alleged deliberate failure to disclose two real properties in her Statements of Asset, Liabilities, and Net worth (SALN).

State prosecutors charged Pauline Labayen with four counts each of perjury and violation of Section 8 of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Labayen, a co-accused of Estrada in his pork barrel fund scam case, is accused of having “willfully, unlawfully and feloniously make a deliberate assertion of falsehood” in her SALN for 2008 and from 2010 to 2012.

For 2008, Labayen omitted her ownership and the acquisition cost of a condominium unit at The Manila Residences in Malate, Manila.

Labayen then failed to disclose her ownership and the acquisition cost of another condominium unit and parking slot at the Makati Executive Tower IV in the SALN for years 2010 to 2012.

A total bail bond of P64,000 has been recommended in the case.

Labayen, however, remains at large after fleeing the country in 2013

The Bureau of Immigration had said Labayen left the country after she was implicated in the pork barrel fund scam. —KG, GMA News
