Mocha Uson thanks Akbayan Youth for idea on future coffee shop's name
Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson on Monday said she now has an idea what to name her future coffee shop -- Fire Mocha Cafe.
Uson said in a Facebook post that she came up with the idea after a youth group filed of an administrative complaint against her for supposedly spreading fake news.
"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Akbayan Youth dahil binigyan po nila ako ng idea sa magiging pangalan ng aking future coffee shop, ito ang 'Fire Mocha Cafe.' Abangan n'yo po 'yan. Salamat!" Uson said.
The Akbayan Youth filed an administrative complaint for her alleged grave misconduct, serious dishonesty and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service for spreading fake information on various media platforms while serving as assistant secretary in the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).
In response to Uson's reaction on the filing of the complaint, the group said they are eager to see the government official turn into a coffee shop owner.
"Akbayan Youth is eager see you [her] transition from assistant secretary to coffee shop owner, real quick," Akbayan Youth said in a separate statement.
"We hope to see justice delivered against government disinformation, with you fired for gross misconduct, serious dishonesty, and conduct prejudicial to service," the group added.
The group also "suggested" a slight change to the name of Uson's future coffee shop: #FiredMocha.
#FireMocha
Earlier in the day, the group trooped to the Ombudsman carrying protest signs and coffee cups with pictures of Uson and the text #FireMocha.
"Naniniwala kami na hindi siya karapatdapat sa posisyon niya at sa suweldo niya bilang assistant secretary ng PCOO. Kaya po ang panawagan namin ngayon ay patalsikin si Mocha sa kanyang posisyon," Shamah Bulangis, convenor of Youth Resist and one of the complainants, said.
The group also claimed that Uson's stay at the PCOO was supposedly a "threat to the security" of people who have been critical of the Duterte administration.
They added that Uson committed gross dishonesty for supposedly using misleading statements.
Uson is also a libel complaint filed by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV in September 2017 for allegedly spreading fake news about his supposed offshore bank accounts. —Anna Felicia Bajo/ALG/RSJ, GMA News
