Trillanes rejects Jing Paras’ handshake at Senate session hall

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Tuesday rejected Labor Undersecretary Jing Paras' offer of a handshake in the Senate.

Trillanes pointed his finger at Paras who was standing at the VIP gallery together with Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.

He shook the hand of Duque but declined when Paras extended his hand.

"Si Paras ay gusto akong kamayan. So sinabi ko sa kanya ang lakas naman ng loob mo, kinasu-kasuhan mo ko tapos kakamay-kamay ka sa 'kin," Trillanes told reporters when asked about the incident.

Trillanes walked away after muttering something to Paras but returned. He was seen doing this thrice.

Paras was in the Senate to attend the hearing of the congressional oversight committee on overseas workers affairs together with Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III earlier in the day.

Paras had filed sedition and coup d’etat charges against him. —Cedric Castillo and Amita Legaspi/NB, GMA News
