Slain priest Richmond Nilo buried at Nueva Ecija church

Slain priest Richmond Nilo has been laid to rest on Friday, five days after he was shot dead while officiating mass inside a chapel in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija.

A 24 Oras report said Nilo was buried at the Saint Nicholas de Tolentino Church.

The final mass was officiated by Cabanatuan Bishop Sofronio Bancud.

Several of his loved ones and supporters attended the interment and were visibly emptional as they paid their final respects. They also offered white roses at his grave.

Nilo was the third priest to be killed in the last six months.

The prime suspect in his killing, Adell Roll Milan, was arrested Thursday night, while follow-up operations against five other suspects are still ongoing. — Margaret Claire Layug/MDM, GMA News
