Con-com turns over draft federal charter to Senate

Members of the Consultative Committee (Con-com) on Thursday turned over to Senate President Vicente Sotto III a copy of the draft federal constitution.

Among those present were former Chief Justice Reynato Puno, the committee's chair, and committee members former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel Jr, Susan Ubalde-Ordinario, Julio Teehankee, and Ferdinand Bocobo.

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved and endorsed to Congress the Con-com draft federal constitution.

Sotto said the Senate will still have to wait for the official transmission of the document from Malacañang.

Puno said Duterte will most likely make the official endorsement and transmission during his State of the Nation Address later this month. —KBK, GMA News
