Columnist priest Jerry Orbos is battling cancer —brother Tim

Columnist priest Father Jerry Orbos, SVD, has been diagnosed with Stage 2 lung cancer.

A Facebook post of his brother Transportation Undersecretary Tim Orbos said Fr. Jerry will undergo surgery on Tuesday, July 17.  He will then be subjected to chemotherapy a month after the surgery.

His family is asking for prayers for his healing ang full recovery.

Father Orbos is a member of the Society of the Divine Word and regularly appears on TV healing masses on Sundays.

He has authored several books such as "Treasured Moments," "Meaningful Moments," and "Simple Moments."

He also writes a regular Sunday column for a national daily. —Maia Tria/LBG, GMA News
