VP Robredo confirms attendance at Duterte's 3rd SONA

Vice President Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo confirmed on Wednesday her attendance at President Rodrigo Duterte's third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 23, 2018.

A report on Super Radyo dzBB's Dobol B sa News TV said that Robredo would want to listen what the President will say about pressing issues the country is facing.

Particularly, the Vice President would want to know plans and measures against rising inflation as a result of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (or TRAIN) law, the report said.

Likewise, Robredo was quoted in the report as saying that she would want to hear the government's report and plans of action on the issue of the West Philippine Sea.

Robredo's confirmation came over a week after Duterte, in a speech in Pampanga on July 10, said she will never be ready to succeed him.

Duterte made the remark hours after Robredo said that she was ready to lead the opposition against Duterte. —LBG, GMA News
