Bicam-approved Bangsamoro Organic Law

The bicameral conference committee approved last week a common version of Bangsamoro Organic Law, formerly known as the Bangsamoro Basic Law.

The bill, which was ratified by the Senate on Monday, institutionalized provisions of the Comprehensive Agreement on Bangsamaro that was signed by the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in 2014.

Certified urgent by Duterte, the bill, once enacted into law, is expected to end the decades-old armed conflict in Mindanao.
