Sara Duterte denies PDP-Laban members moving to her party

Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte on Friday denied that several PDP-Laban members are mulling transferring to the regional party she established.

A report on News To Go said Mayor Duterte pointed out that newly installed Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is a member of PDP and that she can handle her party-mates.

In a phone interview with reporters on Thursday, Deputy Speaker Rolando Andaya, a PDP-Laban stalwart, said there are already "quite a handful" of lawmakers from their party who are "seriously considering" pledging allegiance to Mayor Duterte's Hugpong ng Pagbabago.

Andaya explained that what may make the lawmakers from his party jump ship is the "mass disenchantment" they feel after PDP-Laban expanded across the country. —KBK, GMA News
