No warrant, no arrest? Not true, says Trillanes

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Friday night expressed doubt over Malacañang's remarks that President Rodrigo Duterte would not want him arrested without a warrant.

"This is not true," Trillanes said of presidential spokesman Harry Roque's remarks in Jordan that Duterte wanted him arrested with a warrant.

"The AFP and PNP still have orders to have me arrested even without a warrant," he added.

Soldiers and police went to the Senate on Wednesday to supposedly arrest him after Duterte issued a proclamation revoking the amnesty he was given by the Aquino administration in 2011.

Trillanes, however, was taken into custody by the Senate and the sergeant-at-arms had been ordered to prevent any arrest at its premises. —NB, GMA News
