Gov't offering P500,000 reward for info on Peter Lim —Guevarra

The government is offering P500,000 reward for anyone who can provide information on the whereabouts of suspected drug lord Peter Go Lim, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Friday.

In a message to reporters, Guevarra said the cash reward will be given "provided that such information will lead to the actual arrest" of Lim.

Lim was ordered arrested by the Makati Regional Trial Court last August 14 for alleged violations of drug trade conspiracy provision of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Guevarra warned against harboring the high-profile fugitive.

“Persons coddling Peter Lim will be prosecuted for obstruction of justice and punished accordingly,” he said.

In a statement last August 22, Lim's lawyers claimed that they are clueless on the whereabouts of their client, and that Lim has not reached out to them since the drug trafficking charges were filed against him.

In addition, Lim's lawyers also said that they are not certain as to whether they will still serve as Lim's legal counsel for the drug trafficking case.

The lawyers' statement was released just two days after the police failed to arrest Lim in his two residences in Barangay Banilad and Barangay Mabolo in Cebu City.

President Rodrigo Duterte met with Lim in the Palace way back in July 2016, and Palace Communications Chief Martin Andanar described the rendezvous wherein Lim “expressed his intentions to clear his name” of drug charges before the President. —KBK, GMA News
