Over 200 families, rescuers asked to flee landslide-hit area in Itogon, Benguet
Residents, rescuers, and members of the media staying at the area in Itogon, Benguet hit by a landslide last Saturday were asked to seek safer ground on Friday due to the threat of landslides hitting the area anew.
According to Saleema Refran's report on "Balitanghali," they were asked to pull-out following an information from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (GMB) that the landslide-hit area could still be "active."
Officials agreed that only some 30 workers would be allowed to conduct rescue, search, and retrieval operations in the area.
The report also said forced evacuation will be conducted among residents living nearby.
